Local Heritage Initiative

This year(2007) Steps in Time have been awarded a grant from the Local Heritage Initiative to record our year in Dorset. This will provide a record of some of our dances, music, drama and performances. A DVD/booklet will be produced which will be supplied to schools, libraries and traditional archives. As part of this will are running a number of workshops to pass on our skills to others. During the workshops we will be covering traditional Dorset dances and their tunes, also Dorset mummers plays and making Dorset buttons. These workshops based at Springhead, Fontmell Magna  are free and will run from the 21st - 23rd Feb 2007. They are for both Adults and Children regardless of experience or ability.  The Springhead Trust is just off the A350 between Shaftesbury and Blandford.  Booking is preferred.
