Events 2008
We held a number of events to raise fund for our trip to the 2008 Europeade in Martigny, Switzerland.

Quiz  and Curry evening
This is in the Cricketers, Shroton on the Thurs 7th Feb at 7.30pm. Cost £5 per person (inc curry) teams of 4 to 6. The Cricketers have very generously stated that they will donate £4 of your £5 to Steps In Time. To book please ring the Cricketers direct on 01258 860421. Map.

Roaming the hills and valleys of the Nepal Himalayas
An illustrated talk by Bill Norman on his 30 years involvement with Nepal and the Nepalese. Elizabeth Freke Hall, Shroton, Thursday March 6th 7.30pm. Tickets £5 (including light refreshment) from Dot 01747 811755 or on the door. Map.

All Fools Ceilidh
Steps in Time musicians plus guests will be holding a All Fools Ceilidh on Saturday 29th March 7pm Ashmore village hall. Tickets are £5 inc light supper, drinks are available. Please call Penny-Jane 01747 821365 to reserve a ticket. All profits to Steps in Time. Map.

St. Georges Day Dinner
This popular evening will be on 25th April from 6.00pm at Ashmore village hall. Entertainment includes a Mummers play and dance displays, with dinner. Drinks available. To book a ticket £6 call Dot 01747 811755. All profits to Steps in Time. Map.

May Day Duck Races
Celebrate May Day at the Crown Inn, Fontmell Magna on Friday 2nd May. There will be a number of duck races with prizes, and a dance display by Steps in Time. No need to book just turn up, all race profits to Steps in Time. Map.

St. Georges Day Dinner 2006
This was held in Shroton Village Hall on 23rd April from 6.00pm. Entertainment included a Mummers play and dance displays, with dinner with drinks. It raised over £400.

Quiz evening 2006
This is in the Cricketers, Shroton on the 14th May at 7.30 for a 7.45 start. Cost £2.50 per person teams of 4 or more. This was very successful, thanks to the Cricketers and the Bates family for their work.

Regency/Playford Weekend and Ball.

Details of previous weekend/Ball
This is being held on the 27th to 28th May at Springhead, a 18th century mill set in delightful gardens with lake,  on the edge of the North Dorset downs. You will learn a number of dances including some mentioned in Jane Austen's novels and seen in Film/TV adaptations. Then experience a Regency style Ball and period style buffet (period costume encouraged but as long as your clothes are comfortable and suitable for dancing that's all that needed), were you can dance, enjoy the music, play period card games or take a stroll around the delightful gardens of Springhead.  This is intended to be a fun weekend that can be enjoyed by all, whatever your dancing experience.Itinerary for the weekend26th - arrival for those with accommodation.
27th - day of learning dances with lunch, Ball with buffet in the evening (drinks available).
28th - learn a few more dances with the weekend finishing with lunch.

Springhead is an 18^th century mill and lake set in beautiful formal gardens beneath the North Dorset Downs. Springhead Mill is managed by Springhead Trust which was set up to promote the aims of Rolf Gardiner, and is his former home. He was a pioneer of the organic movement and instrumental in the folk revival of the early twentieth century.  Located in Fontmell Magna just off the A350 between Shaftesbury and Blandford with the nearest train station being Gillingham (Dorset), Springhead is easy to get to.
